Golden Hour jingles!
Many of the people who whinge about the way that Radio 1 changed were out of the target audience before it was revamped. It had to change, because it had been the same old stuff for decades. I don’t like a lot of Radio 1 now, but it’s not aimed at me, and I realise that.
@ntmdisco I agree radio 2 is better. But then again non-commercial/ mainstream music is better now! All the good music used to get recognised in its time now its…shite mainstream…
….Bring back Mark & lard!!
Radio 1 is utter dog turd. You’ve got shite like Scott Mills, Chris Moyles, etc. I’d rather listen to my local radio station and that is also utter crap
radio 1 went downhill when matthew banninser took over and sacked all the old djs. then in july 1994 they shut down the am 1053/1089 wavelength. they lost millions of loyal listeners. meanwhile radio 2 was growing in popularity from 1996 and by 2000 they overtook radio 1 to become the most popular station in the uk and still is today because it was changed slowly and they adoped the 1990 radio 1 format, ratings by day, reputation by night.
Any chance we could use this at an employment tribunal against Bannister for breach of promise?
@darkliahos Radio 2 has been becoming the new Radio1 for years now. Mind you, I never liked Radio 1 that much, even in its “glory Days”. I tend to finf jingles inane, cheesy and stupid in the main. Or maybe thats me missing the point lol.
classic tears for fears in the background
@leepenfold very true.
@AnthonyUK and he typically got his own show on BBCR2
This was the best station in it Hay day, Steve Wright afternoon show on Radio 1 and two decade later he now on Radio 2. Plus Dave Lee Travis Bruno Brookes, Jackie Brambles and the list goes on. In the world of digital computer techonolgy. Radio 1 is no longer Britain favourite radio station, As Radio 2 over tooke Radio 1.. Long gone are the days of happy sound Radio 1..
Radio 1 today makes for a very painful long journey that makes you want to harm yourself. Before it was Bannistered it was great.
good jingles but aint it funny how radio 1 came out with new jingles just after radio caroline was shut down
Chris Morris on Radio1 was brilliant, Do search the internet for the recordings, worth a listen.
Johnny Beerling was The Best Radio 1 Controller 1985-1993 He Had the Biggest Audince on 1fm
@mjd775 No, Really Radio 1 went back to being alright, which was it’s aim to start with, competing with the commercial channels. Encouraged Late 20′s and early thirties (past R1 listeners) to radio 2, and successfully without the stigma of “ha you listen to R2!”. Their weekend line up on 2 is very good. It’s a natural shift of age that radio 1 and 2 needed, but done with a silent, dignified change.
@mjd775 i don´t understand.
Listening to these is bringing back memories. Haven’t heard them for years, but yet I find myself humming and singing along. Like unlocking a long unused part of my brain.
Radio 1 play to many chav records now .all the rnb and the uk equivalent of it.That might be what young people listen to but it is low quality music
make your own radio commercials via the audio through VoxTonePRO dot come. google the word VoxTonePRO.
Mr Mad here ill tell you who’s mad anyone who tunes in to radio 1 now, the last 10 years has seen some of the shitist dj ever, if you are a crap dj apliy with in.
Radio one was always shit, and it still is. No real change, always was cheesy, still cheesy. I stopped listening to it in 1986, and from what I’ve caught since then, it remains as idiotic and childish as it always was.
Fair enough if you enjoy it or did enjoy it, each to their own (just don’t make me listen to it and I won’t make you listen to what I listen to!) but I really can’t hear or see how it’s changed. It always aimed for kids and was pretty dumb, and still does and is, in my opinion.
Radio 1 might not be the greatest station now but sadly what happend if Radio 1 and Radio 2 both played and appealed so same audience it wouldn’t work. Radio 2 is for the middle aged some older ie 30 – 70. Radio 1 is aimed for under 30′s but has a lot of listners under 25
the jingles werent cheesey at the time. Everything has a shelf life pretty much so the jingles of today will be cheesey in 10 years time
one of the best ads i have ever seen
Z50 awesome.
@Casanovamorris
1. I never said I was trying to be smart
2. There’s no reason to use inappropriate language at people
3. Humans have the right to express their own thoughts and ideas.
And FYI, The Honda Accord has dropped from the 4th best seller in the US to the 9th place. And the Honda Freed was launched in Hong Kong in late June this year. Plus, Honda’s sales have dropped by more than 20%, in which Nissan and Hyundai have surpassed Honda. So there’s no proof to call me ‘lack of knowledge’
@altima1fuga2 Your immature and ignorant comments only show your embarrassing lack of of knowledge about Honda.. So stop trying to be smart and talking through your ass..
@peterd91qq Stupid pick ignorent dick head with no class
@KarlisKristaps looks like either a Honda S500 or S800 ( i think its a s500)
Does your butt tingle when you sit in that new Japanese car? Google and read “Where Were The Japanese Radioactive Cars Shipped?”
I love the comment about Jesus and “Accord”
at least someone on the road has a sense of humour or at least really likes their Honda or Hondas
those who dislike this ad must come from the yamaha management board…
By far one of the best Honda commercials I’ve ever seen. So good!
What is the little red car he`s driving? That Honda looks a bit like a Spitfire
This is such a perfect commercial. Done perfectly, right down to the main balding star with a handle bar mustache. I can imagine it would have raised eyebrows at the board room when it was first pitched.
God Bless Honda for running it. Fantastic.
when that Honda 225 V6 flew through the wave it brought a tear to my eye
29 persone soffrono d’insonnia…
Too bad honda doesn’t make dream cars anymore.
NEW VERSION!!!

@rodrigoeternalfallen yes, I know its in the border. But the best half is in Argentina
@saynomorefr In the BORDER between Brazil and Argentina…
honda – the power of nightmares
now that’s the right motto for honda, because honda=crap

@rvind92g yes, but the falls are the Iguazu Falls in Argentina
