Planning a party can be challenging but the end result is so rewarding because you get to have a lot of fun with your friends and family for any occasion. If you are throwing a party you should start planning for it a couple of weeks in advance. The most important aspect of any party that will make it a success is the music. Using an Internet radio station is the best choice to use for music at your party.
The first step for planning your party is knowing your budget. Once a budget is determined, you can allocate the funds for invitations, decorations, food, and other party supplies that you will need. You can have a themed party if you want such as a Hawaiian or country theme. Perhaps you are celebrating a particular occasion such as a birthday, graduation, or a baby shower. If you have a theme of a certain occasion you are celebrating, you can decide on appropriate music to play at your party.
Making a playlist can be a lot of fun and you may even discover a new band you had not heard of before. You can have a theme styled playlist or a mix of different genres, singer, and bands. If you are throwing a western themed party you should include a lot of country music at your party. People love to dance at parties, so good dance music is a necessity. You can make your playlist by listening to Internet radio stations to find songs for your playlist. When you hear a song on radio channel that you like, write it down and record it for your party playlist.
If you do not want to make a specific playlist for your party or prefer to just have background noise, you can have the radio on. If you choose to have the radio on during your party, using an Internet Radio station would be better than a traditional radio station. Having music play from the Internet can be less distracting because stations usually have fewer commercials and dj’s talking after every song. You can also find music from all over the world which is perfect if you are throwing a themed party.
The music at your party can get conversations started, especially if you are playing a popular song that people like. There is so much to talk about when it comes to music. Also, people love to dance at parties and can make it really fun.

In the eighties, setting up freelance shop in Los Angeles, Dees had success with the movie industry, painting hundreds of video covers, movie ad campaigns, and store displays for his clients Paramount, Hanna-Barbera, and Walt Disney Studios. Then, an interest in children’s book illustrations led to a long standing association with Sesame Street, where his colorful and wacky illustrations of Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and The Muppet’s were featured in Sesame Street Magazine nearly every month for the last 15 years, including seven covers, and recently, four Sesame Street children books for Random House and Readers Digest Publishing. These days, long since replacing the liquid airbrushed acrylic paint with Photoshop digital art, high technology has revitalized the look and feel of his artwork. People of all ages and backgrounds love to win things. The more prizes a radio station gives away, the more people usually listen. With the added incentive of good odds of winning, people are drawn to return repeatedly to the radio.
The first thing to decide when gaining radio publicity and/or advertising is which station to choose. It is important to decide which station will be most responsive to the particular product or service that is being promoted. Selecting a station whose listeners are most likely to connect with that product or service is vital to ensure the best result for the effort.
After a radio station has been chosen, contact that station with a phone call. Offer to provide them with something they can use as a prize for one of their contests. Remember to think simple, as the product does not need to be anything incredibly expensive. A T-shirt is a quick solution. Other relatively inexpensive and easy to acquire prize donation ideas include books and artwork. Coupons, gift cards, tickets, and free passes are also substantial prizes that satisfy a broad range of interests.
When selecting the prize to offer, think about how it will connect to the product and/or service that is being promoted. A direct approach to take is by providing the actual promoted product as the prize. For instance, if it is a restaurant that is gaining publicity, a prize of two free meals at the establishment is a reasonable offer with sizable returns. A hair salon might offer one free cut and style. In cases such as this, word of mouth publicity will carry beyond the initial free radio advertising. If there is no direct link to the product and/or service, a prize with an indirect link still offers residual publicity beyond that which the radio supplies. For example, a T-shirt as a prize may bear a logo or web address that will draw the attention of a wide range of people to ones company or organization for an indefinite amount of free advertising time.
Giving away product or services to a radio station for use as a prize is a great way to get a free plug. The name of your company or organization will be heard by many listeners. When speaking about the contest and especially when the prize is won, the station usually shares information about the company or organization donating the prize. This is free and clear advertising at its finest. Without a doubt, this is one of the easiest and best ways to get free publicity for your product or service.

Singers and bands have loyal fans that stick with them through the thick and thin of their music careers. Annual music awards are a time for the fans to vote for their favorite musicians and give praise for their musical talents. Singers and bands not only get recognition and some type of fancy award, but their careers are usually increased in ratings. There are genre specific music awards, general awards, and online awards. Here is a look at an Internet radio awards and some other music awards.
Perhaps the most well known awards for music are the Grammy Awards show. It is an annual award given to musicians that are the best in the business. They receive a golden gramophone statuette that solidifies their place in the entertainment industry and their outstanding achievements. The Grammy Award is presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The categories you can win an award for are: best new artist, album of the year, song of the year, and record of the year. These categories are also handed out awards for certain genres.
There are other awards that take place every year that are genre specific. They are less prestigious than the Grammy’s but can still boost a musician’s career and get just as much hype and audience attention. Other annual awards are the County Music Awards, the MTV Video Music awards, Texas Music Awards, Independent Music Awards, and the Brit Awards for example. These music awards recognize achievements for musicians who make music in their genre such as country, hip hop, or alternative music.
Internet Radio is just as influential as traditional radio for promoting a band or singer. Annually, there are the Internet Radio Awards that are held online. You can vote for your favorite Internet radio station, and they will win an award for best program online. If you have a radio station online you can either nominate yourself or one of your listeners can nominate for an award. It is a great way to see what stations there are around the world and to recognize the hard work that your favorite Internet station does day to day to provide you with great music to listen to.
If you want to discover music from around the world, or nominate an Independent musician for their work, you can vote for them at the International Online Music Awards. They are held every year, and you can vote for your favorite Independent band or singer to win an award. A lot of popular mainstream artists have been discovered by their online music. The Internet is very powerful for boosting someone’s career.

By Leslie Linthicum Journal Staff Writer One day last week, in between the rancheras and community announcements on KDCE radio in Española, Matthew Rivera, owner of the Rivera Family Funeral Home, delivered the news of 81-year-old Eustaquio Montoya’s passing. The departed was preceded in death by Matias and Estefanita Montoya. The same morning, Johnny DeVargas of DeVargas Funeral Home announced services for Estanislao Roybal, an Arroyo Seco resident who passed away at age 92. He was preceded in death by Procopio and Tonita Roybal. Just about every day in New Mexico, another great old Spanish name passes on as a family loses a viejo. If you read the obituaries — especially the ones in Journal North and Journal Santa Fe — as religiously as I do, and if you love the lyrical sound of names like Eufilia and Abenicia and Tranquilio, then perhaps you’ve also mourned the passing of strangers. Cristobal. Teodorito. Benerito. Seferino. Dionicio. Zulema. Anselmo. I met with former state historian Estevan Rael-Gálvez, who is now the executive director of the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, hoping he could be persuaded to read some of those names to me. He was happy to, and the effect was somewhere between a poem and a lullaby. Leocaida. Elfido. Trinidad. Pacomio. Seralia. Evilia. Amadea. Aureliano. Writing long papers for school or having long days at work can make you sluggish and unproductive. The day to day routine can be boring, and in turn slow you down. Listening to music, however, can make your more productive and can perk you up with a little more energy. There are debates about whether classical music makes you smarter or not. Listening to a certain type of music ranges from person to person. Maybe pop music makes you smarter because you make up songs about what you are studying. Music choices are very personal. One thing that is true is that listening to music, for some people, can make you more productive.
Studies have shown that listening to music can make you more productive, especially at work. Most workers who listen to music get their work done faster and are happier to be at work. Depending on where you work, it can be hard to listen to music and not distract the colleagues around you. If you work in a quiet office building, you may want to consider loading your favorite tunes on an MP3 player. You can browse the Internet for your favorite songs. Some Internet radio stations also let you build your own playlists which can be downloaded to your MP3 player.
Radio stations on the Internet are a great resource for listening to music while you are studying or being productive at work. There are fewer commercials and fewer interruptions that will break your concentration. A lot of traditional radio programs have too many commercial breaks and sponsor they are obligated to promote. Some shows have frequent interruptions from DJs instead of playing music. Another benefit of listening to the radio online is that you do not have to bring in a radio or boom box that will take up space in your office or dorm room for example.
One of the best advantages of Internet Radio that makes you more productive is that you can easily listen to the type of music you like. Traditional radios only have AM and FM stations that can be difficult to tune into. Radio stations on the Internet can be downloaded from anywhere in the world. If pop music is too distracting, you may find that jazz makes you more productive. You can also find music from all over the world. A lot of people find that the beat from pop or electronic music puts them in a good make which makes them want to work harder.
