Top Online Radio Stations and Services

With the advances in high-speed internet more and more people are flocking to online radio stations for their listening pleasure rather than tuning in to their local airwaves. The internet offers a wider variety of choices in every genre and it is instantly available. There are also talk radio stations that offer fun and informative programming and you can pick up stations in any country around the world no matter where you are located.
The only drawback to online radio stations is that high-speed connections are a must, and the faster the better.

Slower speeds even in DSL can cause lags in signal, slow loading, and a lot of buffering which causes breaking up of the music or information. Another reason people are tuning into internet radio in droves is the fact that they are largely commercial free. Like the old FM of the initial heyday in the 70’s that offered a commercial free alternative to AM stations, the internet gives its listeners continuous pleasure without breaks for advertising.

Some of the advantages of the top online radio stations:

• Many broadcast both music and videos so you can see the top music videos to go along with the song vs just listening to the music on your radio.
• Easy to use
• Many offer parental guidance ability to block what you do not want your children listening to
• Some allow you to create your own ‘station’ with music you choose to listen to

Some of the disadvantages of the top online radio stations:

• Many will require that you sign up for the service. Some are free, some are not, but most of the sign up forms are easy enough to fill out.
• Depending on your country of origin there may be some limitations from stations from other countries

For many listeners the internet is the way to go for the best music and talk radio experience.

Have you got wireless Internet? Do you want to get FREE music, sports, and reports from around the world? Uninterested in confusing terminology and confusing features? Meet Ira – Our Wi fi Internet radio adapter that connects automatically to any wireless Internet network. Additional options were intentionally removed so you can speedily hear free music shows, sports, and reports, without the extra hassles.

Save 20% Now, promo code DENNIS – expire in 24 hours : The Ira Wi fi Internet radio adapter

Just take it out of the box, plug it in, connect it to your place stereo or boombox and enjoy it. In addition, Ira Wi fi Internet radio adapter sets up in about 2 mins and it does not need a notebook. Filter by location or idiom to find new stations in under 40 seconds.

Ira Wi fi Internet radio adapter includes On Demand Podcast programming for many stations so you can hear your fave shows when you want. This small Wi fi Internet radio adapter is jumping-up-and-down cool. The very first thing I did after I connected it to my receiver was to turn it on and go thru the menu and set the time and date and hook up to my home WiFi network. Wi fi Internet radio adapter has with a manual which is great written and comprehensible, but I did not even need it.

The IRA Wi fi Internet radio adapter is trendy looking, although it’s made of plastic. You can search by country, class of music, stations, or new or preferred stations. There’s an automatic software update feature thru the Wi-Fi network or you can check it yourself to establish if there are any updates available. I also attempted it with the Wi fi Internet radio adapter, wired into a little clock radio and that worked good too.
And if you are learning a second language, what simpler way than to enjoy a newscast from that country using Wi fi Internet radio adapter?

Once the Ira Wi fi Internet radio adapter is plugged in, it will straight away search for your wireless network and within mins it’ll identify your router. Ira Wi fi Internet radio adapter can then be hitched up to any audio receiver or amplifier with RCA audio inputs or one / 8″ ( 4.5mm ) auxiliary audio input.

You can search by location, kind of music, station, or new and favored stations ; you may even store up to 41 of your fave stations. The Ira Wi fi Internet radio adapter is a compact, sublime looking device with a high gloss, black plastic case that takes up less space than an old VHS tape. Enjoy all of the music the world has to offer with the Ira Wi-Fi Internet Radio. At first I got a network timeout, but then I simply reset the unit and all worked perfectly after the fast setup. many of stations are available and it makes a superb audio source for a complete home audio system.

Myine states that it produces products that “make music accessible to clients with some time or technical sophistication.” The IRA applies. The Wi fi Internet radio adapter took about 2.5 mins to set up and start using.

Web radio is one of the finest buys going. But “buy” isn’t entirely accurate. Listening to web radio doesn’t cost a cent if you have an Internet-connected computer and speakers. Standalone Wi-Fi Internet radios, including Myine’s IRA Wi fi Internet radio adapter and Aluratek’s WiFi Wireless net Radio Tuner, Home Theater Edition, evade the computer connection by drumming right into a wireless router instead. Further, both radios compile and organize thousands of stations for you. I recently dialed into both radios.

Music Industry/ Radio Station

Why do radio stations play the same songs over and over again?
I know the answers ….I’m just wondering, what’s your take on the subject.

Okay, because we are acting like we don’t notice the pattern.
(Fight the Power)

I understand if songs are requested, due to the fact; it’s a great song.

However, there are songs still played on the radio and the artist is dead. If the song is not requested, move on. I don’t believe in bring up an issue, without providing a resolution. If the radio stations need to fill the slot, they can recruit new singers. Although, with artist submitting their work on a consonant basics; it shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve. Even old, old songs are still in rotation. No one cares, as long as it’s not your problem. No disrespect!

We are taught in America to take a stand, don’t give up, and honestly is the best policy.

In most cases, deceased artist still get exposure from other recognitions. This is mainly in reference to artist who were known all over the world. If money is an issue, I’m sure within their music career they’ve managed to make enough to provide for themselves and others. If not, then like many other Americans who have it hard, it’s your responsibility.

What’s this about, because we know it’s not so simple to change the way things are going.

I guess there are long lines of legal documents pencil whipping the industry.

What about the thousands and thousands of hardworking artist who can’t get their song in rotation, because I’m sorry….what Major label are they on. Oh….that’s not the case; it’s the music program director…that’s really picky about the song. Wait, wait, it’s a special news report from my head. It says in order to make it in the entertainment business; you must know at least 3 to 5 people.

Do you know there is a law in so many words, state if an artist song is requested a number of

times they must play it. I’m informing you of what I know. I don’t know all of the details, but if you found this post; I’m sure you can do a little research on this subject.
How are indie artist suppose to make it, if they keep this up? The reason being for all this unfair treatment is, because once again we allow it. Jesus said,” it’s wise to receive justice.”

Leave me a comment.

Internet Radio-Spreading the Boundaries for Radio Listeners

The rapid technological progress over the years has brought us on the threshold of a new era where we can consider listening to online radio stations. There is nothing to deny the far reaching aspects of the web and the increase in number of the net users worldwide is a proof to that. Live radio is conceptually a continuous streaming of audio that is broadcasted over the web. Radio broadcasting over the internet is generally referred to as webcasting. There are various modes of radio webcasting and users have the opportunities to access live radio mostly free of cost and on some occasions on the basis of some fixed subscriptions. Online radio stations allow users to access their favorites regardless of time and place only at the expense of a proper net connection that is compatible of streaming. Since the internet radio services are accessible globally, radio lovers do not need to worry about staying connected to their favorite radio stations even while travelling abroad. Internet radio services offer almost all formats like news, sports, various genres of music etc which is perhaps far ahead of the scope of the traditional radio stations. In most of the cases, online radio stations are coupled with consequent traditional radio network.

Online radio stations are simply based on the method of delivering audio programming from one computer to other computers over any network via digital means. Online radio stations broadcast live radio which is essentially a combination of telecast of the traditional radio stations along with content from the internet-only stations. Internet radio would not have been possible without the discovery of the streaming technology in the mid nineties due to some serious technological advancement. Earlier, instead of accessing live radio, users had to download a particular audio file in order to listen to it. But subsequently, with the invention of the streaming technologies, radio listeners can afford to listen to any particular audio in real time. Streaming generally consists of both live material as well as archived clips of audio contents recorded earlier. In order to stream any audio, some software must be there which is capable of encoding the data transmitted from the radio stations. Listening to radio over online radio stations is therefore quite sensational from the point of view that neither any additional hardware is required nor any alternative appliance is required. Only a single appliance can serve both the purposes of computing as well as listening to live radio.

Online radio stations generally follow some interactive programming wherein users can include images, animations, and even videos unlike the traditional radio stations. The number of users listening to live radio on a particular channel can be easily traced by estimating the number of visitors of that particular page on a particular day which can produce some great information for evaluation of the popularity of that channel. The potential of the web to reach global audiences can be applied by the radio stations for not only reaching audiences worldwide, but also giving advertisements some cutting edges through graphics, banners, pop-ups etc. The facilities that the radio listeners can enjoy while listening to live radio over online radio stations are beyond the limits of the traditional radio stations. Therefore the traditional radio stations might get obliterated in near future owing to the increase in the number of net users

The Top 4 Fatal Mistakes Of Newbies Trying To Start A Radio Station (Don’t Let This Happen To You)

Do you know that most people who try to start a radio station end up getting lost  in a myriad of useless information that messes up their prospects right in the very beginning?

The result: Out of 25000+ people who exhibit interest in starting this business every month across the world, only a handful actually end up starting one. This situation can be easily avoided by any person looking to start this business by simply avoiding the most common mistakes and by following the time tested approaches. This post lists down the top 4 fatal mistakes that must avoided at all cost by new start ups.

1. ‘ Know all before you leap’ attitude – This is the most vital reason why more than 70% people never get down to the act of starting a radio station. People simply fail to realize that radio station business like any other business has its own learning curve. You simply don’t learn if you do not ACT here. And because learning has no limits, action has to wait for its chance with these people.

Action here does not mean spending fortunes. It only means taking small progressive steps every day and learning and developing the ground work in the process.

2. ‘Follow every one’ attitude – Advices are the easiest thing to come across in this information age and the Internet is practically flooded with advices. But how is one to separate wheat from the chaff? In the absence of this ability, new entrants start following advices flowing in from all quarters and then end up following no advice whatsoever. If you are keen about starting a radio station (which I bet you are), you better choose one expert and follow him during the start up process. Stay focused on the assigned task and you can avoid unnecessary pitfalls.

3. ‘ Nothing but the best’ attitude – In several start up i have seen people almost dying to spend money on the so-called ‘best things’. They will not settle for anything that they perceive to be the second best. And the best thing is generally judged by the price at which it sells. This could mean hiring the best start up consultant, getting the best equipments or just any thing that can qualify as best with its price tag.

Now don’t mistake me. I am not asking you to settle for something which is not the best for your radio station business. My question is how does a new entrant decide what is the best choice for him? Prices? Seller’s claims? Most of the new entrants eventually quit after having spend considerable time and money in this ‘best’ syndrome and then not knowing where to proceed or how to correct a wrong decision already taken.

4. ‘Get it ready made’ attitude – This is what I call the ‘big daddy of all mistakes’ with people trying to learn how to start radio stations. Ready made business plans, ready made studios, ready made broadcast contents, ready made radio stations… the list of ready made resources is endless.

How can some one do this? Each radio station business proposal is so very unique. How can ‘one size fit all’ kind of thing be applied to business? Never ever do this mistake. You can obviously take broad guidelines but that too has the risk of biasing your opinions towards the ready made plan.

A radio station business is like a child that needs to be parented by you and only you from day one. You make your own business plan and by the time the plan is ready you will have the business at your finger tips. When you know the rules of the game, only then you can you aspire to become a champion in it.

Making your own business plan is a great way to learn the rules of the game. When you know your business in and out none shall be able to dupe you in the game. Once your business plan is ready, that is the time to start actual ground execution, and then begins the process of applying for licenses.

Having obtained the license one then moves to raising funds, spending money on studios, equipments and other infrastructure for the launch day. I call these 4 mistakes ‘ Fatal’ because they are responsible for the exit of more than 90% of the people who sincerely wanted to start a radio station but fell victim to these mistakes.

To know more on the topic, you can instantly download a book on how to start radio station by clicking on the link above. The book is 50-pages of hard-hitting step-by-step guide on how to start your own radio station.

Or, you can warm up with this Free book on financial planning for radio station start up.
